Love It, Live It, Share It |

"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.” Isaiah 46:9 ESV I’m a sentimental person. I tend to hold onto things. If an item has any family history, I simply cannot let it go. All around my house, well, nearly everything, has some sort of story. In my kitchen sits an upholstered display board, likely made for pictures, but mine holds old recipes. Not just any old recipes though, these I’ve collected from my grandmother. Some she sent me personally, some I collected shortly after she passed, but all are handwritten in beautiful cursive. And, there they’ve sat, in the kitchens of our last and current homes. On the shelf. Unused. They’ve been there for years now and, so many times, I’ve said to myself ‘I should actually use one of these’, I mean, they sound so good! But still they’ve stayed in their place on display … until last week. One caught my eye. My ‘I should’ turned into ‘I am!’, and so it was made. Would you believe, my family ate every last bit? They literally scraped the pan until there was nothing left, AND requested that I make it again, ASAP. All that time sitting there, who knew I had a treasure just waiting on the shelf? You know, sometimes the teachings and experiences of old are left that way too. As decor, on a shelf somewhere, unused. What could a testimony, scripture, the Gospel do if we began using it? What could it do if we developed an insatiable love for it? We must get a love for the Truth that causes us to want to use it, a love for the Truth that causes us to want to put it into action. Jesus said that if we keep the Truth, it will in turn make us free (John 8:1-36). Just imagine what freedom we could share by loving, and living, the truth we have been given. We will pursue what we love. When we love that Message, and we live, pursue, and share It, It will change lives - ours and others! Love the truth, “ The Message - the Death, Burial, and Resurrection - is still as relevant and life-changing today as it was for those that lived it 2000 years ago. In a world where so much emphasis is placed on constant, continuous change, let ’s stay the same, consistent, faithful in our love for the Truth, in our love for the Gospel, in our love for the foundations laid by those that have gone on before, and in our love for Jesus! Take it off the shelf. Love it, live it, share it! “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:5 KJV) |

Mia Chapdelaine is a worship leader, Pastor's wife at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Portage, MI, and homeschool mom. She was raised in a Pastor's home and began serving in various capacities in the church at a very early age. She studied music at Indiana Bible College and medicine at Western Michigan University before earning her degree in business from Baker University. Besides serving in the Kingdom, Mia is also the mother of three beautiful children, Evan (15), Jaxon (12), and Reagan (7), and devoted wife of 18 years to Pastor Dwaine Chapdelaine. |
